Welcome to the latest edition of the HS Trail News. A warm welcome to the many new members who have joined us this week, we are so excited that you’ve joined us. Please be sure and let Doug or I know if you have any questions.
Maybe I’m oldfashioned.. maybe I’m just old, but I’ve noticed, what is to me, a very unsettling trend among some of the more visible Traffic Exchange owners.
When did it become acceptable to verbally bash another persons business in the name of constructive criticism and where does this lack of business ethics lead to next?
I’m very troubled by superiour attitudes being flaunted around that promote an atmosphere of judgement and intolerance. It seems that if an exchange does not meet certain physical criteria than it is not only deemed worthless to look at but to use as well.
Does the appearance of an Exchange affect the program itself? Unfortunately the answer is yes. Just as the appearance of a brick and mortar business will probably affect the rate of business growth and immediate popularity.
But does the appearance of an Exchange necessarily reflect the way the program itself is run?
NO
We all know of an out of the way, unique looking, brick and mortar business that we love to shop at.. not the ones that we’ve found advertised on the front page of the Sunday paper but the quaint store around the corner that our neighbor told us about. It’s not pretty to look at maybe, but the people inside are hard working and friendly and care about customer service.
It’s the store that we return to over and over because we are satisfied not only with the quality of merchandise but the quality of customer care.
The way I see it.. when a person asks for advice then, and only then, should it be given and in a helpful and uplifting way and privately unless the person requesting advice agrees to public scrutiny.
Public humiliation only serves one purpose.. it satisfies that persons need to feel superior.
The hope that I hold onto when I want to kick the crap out of some self righteous individuals is the universal principle that “What goes around, comes around”
One of these individuals, a Traffic Exchange owner, received an email from an upgraded member the other day who also happened to be an exchange owner. He was writing to inform him that when he had deleted two of his sites he had lost the credits and wanted to make sure that they knew that was happening.
The reply he received…. “Yes, we know that happens, sorry you lost the credits. Have a good evening.”
I see a definite correlation there. When one feels superior… better then others, things like customer service start becoming a bother.. something to be “handled” and dismissed as easily as possible.
Fortunately, the customers/members, write the final chapter. They tend to go where they are appreciated.. taken care of.. listened to and not talked down to or sold to at every opportunity. For some reason the customer/member likes to be treated as a person not a number and at that point..
Things that have gone around start to come back around.
